Aquamarine Organic Flowers Earrings - for Emma

My camera is spoilt! But anyway it's no excuse for the lousy pictures. These are made for Emma.

Some recent creations - not for sale, just for fun

Rings!!

It's hard to sell rings because it's hard to customise to sizes. I used to make rings to sell, check out the much earlier pics.

The first ring you see is inspired by a 925 silver Japanese designer ring I bought in Taiwan last year. The third one is incomplete, as I run out of wires half way through! Anyway the stones are too delicate and fragile to be put on rings.

Dusty Rose $ 35 - ONE pair only SOLD

This pair of Rhodonite carved flowers are a rare find. I have only one pair. I had wanted to use them to make a necklace for myself but I know I will just keep the necklace somewhere and not wear it. The Smokey Quartz are superb in quality, and the textured loop is from Korea. Other materials are Keishi Pearls and pink freshwater pearls.

Jade Buttons $ 25 - 2 pairs only SOLD

Jade buttons with a patch of green on each one :) Cute right?

Carved bamboo coral roses with Keishi Pearls complete this creation.

Birth Story 17 Aug

On Sunday, the three of us went for a good meal at Ding Tai Feng, bought some vain stuff, bought a fabulous book on crochet, and came back home happy and contented. Settled Chunchun to bed and had a good bath.

Then the contractions came at 11pm and got stronger. Thank God it was good timing because Chunchun was sound asleep when we left the house and my mum was on her way to take over. By the time we got to TMC at 12am the contractions were unbearable and I was desperate for pain relief. Wow the gas was magical - it relaxed me and almost made me lose consciousness :) But I had epidural anyway. They found that I was already 7cm dilated. It could be anytime.

At 4am 17 Aug Monday, I was already 10cm dilated but the waterbag had yet to burst. I waited for another 3 hours when my gynae walked in and simply poked the waterbag in one second. Water flowed out and he said, 'ok just push lah' and walked out. I looked around and found myself in a very pathetic environment - only my hubby, a nurse (who's more concerned about trays and equipments and walking around) and myself in the delivery ward. You know, my neighbour in the adjacent delivery ward had ONE WHOLE CHEERLEADING TEAM next to her telling her when to push and encouraging her, while I only had one nurse and a husband.

And so I just pushed as my contractions urged me to do so. It was like very very bad constipation, when the shit got stuck (a very big one) and you just had to get it out, but you used up all the energy, needed to breathe, while the body continued the pushing action. It was super tiring. I don't remember it was this bad the last time I had Chun.

Soon, 5 minutes later, the gynae walked in again, this time in his proper attire. He sat down calmly, and without saying anything, took the forceps and clamp it somewhere (I really have no idea, I thought he just clamped it ON my vaginal because it was very very painful). I was screaming in pain and gave up on pushing. He pulled out the baby's head and then the body and the placenta and the yucky everything-else.

The stitching up was painful. I really think that the epidural was insufficiently administered this time round, as I could feel everything, from contractions to the stitching.

Didi weighed 3.5 kg at birth, Chunchun was 3.2kg. Doc said that he's too big for me, haha. We haven't found a name for him yet. He has thick dark hair, slightly curly, just like his papa. I suspect that he will have big hair when he grows older. I started breastfeeding him about 2 hours after he was delivered. So far, he is getting better and faster at latching on.

Thank God for the ability to conceive and deliver a healthy baby!

P.S: I will continue to post up the pictures I have taken :)

Aquamarine Organic Flowers $ 75 - personal favourite, looks much more fabulous in reality

Can you tell - colourless, green, pink, blue and pale yellow??

What I failed to capture is the clarity and the sparkle in these stones.

This necklace is something that I will wear, because the colours are really subtle (I am not an exciting person) and go with all the whites/cream tops which make up MOST of my wardrobe.

These stones are amazing - same stone but in all beautiful shades of pastel colours! I bought these years ago and they cost an arm or leg (these gems are sold in carats)!! But I am pricing it at an affordable price just to clear stock. The stones are organically cut and have natural inclusions in them as is common with Aquamarine, but it's kind of a nice natural effect.

Next Posting during Weekend

Will find time to take pics of:

1. Organic Flowers II (Pastel shades of Aquamarine!!) Necklace

2. A pair of jade earrings, super sweet

3. A pair of earrings with carved dusty-pink flowers (I can't remember the name of that stone, will find out, but it's a rare chance to get carved flowers of it).

Projects: I plan to make many many versions of Floral Collage :) So excited!

Finally arrived, and set with Amethyst! :)

Floral Collage II $ 62 - $ 67

Another happy creation. My heart was thumping away when the floral motifs were fixed up one by one. So lovely, could smell spring all over again.

Yellow Chalcedony, Moonstone, Green Quartz and Carnelian flowers set in gold. Again, price varies with chain.

I can set the flowers in silver too.

Earrings to go with Organic Flowers - FOC with necklace

This colour combination was suggested by Davi who ordered Organic Flowers - pretty! :)

Jade Blossom IV $ 32 (with different jade patterns)

This pair was made for Chiu Ping and I chose the only pair of jade buttons I have with natural yellow patterns. [You have no idea how much time I spent picking out jade in PAIRS with similar patterns the last time :) They are all so unique!]

I have 3 other pairs of these jade buttons with carvings and unique patches of colours (these are in shades of green).

Without the brass frame :)

Floral Collage $ 67 - $ 72 (Can be in Silver or Gold)

This is a very pretty necklace.

Price varies with type (Sterling Silver or Goldfilled) and pattern of chain. What you see here is patterned chain and it will cost $72. The simpler one used in my previous necklaces is cheaper.

Yellow Chalcedony, Blue Chalcedony, Amethyst hearts and Peridot flowers form this amazing collage. Stunning, outstanding.

Organic Flowers with Sterling Silver Chain - $ 75 with matching earrings and silver polish cloth

This is so far the only necklace I set in silver tone.
Chunks of Blue Apatite, Green Quartz and pale-blue Aquamarine. The faceting of these stones are so 'organic' (vs micro-faceting in most other stones). The stones themselves are charming in their ruggard look. Freshwater pearls accented the floral piece.
The green flower below the centre drop can dangle!

I have yet to make matching earrings but they will be similar to the green and blue drop below the centre flower, i.e. green flower + an apatite drop hanging below, with silver earwires.
P.s. I notice that the last picture of Mr Neck wearing the necklace makes the necklace look bigger than it really is. It is actually more dainty.

Next posting on coming Friday, hopefully

I can't wait to show you my necklaces, but despite taking leave today to take the pictures, the sky was GLOOMY all day :(

My meeting at work ends at around 4.30pm and I hope by the time I reach home, I can still catch the sunlight.

Preview:

The first necklace (the only one I made in Sterling Silver) -
Organic Flowers (Apatite/Green Quartz/Crystal-clear Aquamarine combo set in silver with freshwater pearls)

Silver-polish cloth included

I have yet to decide on the price, but to make it tempting for everyone, I am including a pair of matching earrings :D

Please check back!

Ribbon (gold or silver) $ 20 - ONE pair each GOLD PAIR SOLD

These earring parts are from Korea. Comes in matt gold or matt silver. The pins are 925 silver.
NOTE: THESE COMPONENTS ARE REALLY DAINTY AND FRAGILE, PLEASE RESIST THE TEMPTATION TO BEND THEM. I will ensure their 'safety' by sending them in a little box.

The Amethyst ovals are my most recent buys, they have flaws but I really like their shape and faceting! Furthermore, they are not too dark in colour, luckily. The bunch of freshwater pearls on top have nice lustre too. They are of various sizes and colours (peach, pink, white).

Pastel-green Jade Cocktail $ 25 - ONE pair only SOLD

This is another pair of Jade Cocktail but with slightly different materials.

The upper piece is carved flower (squarish) instead of the round doughnuts, and I have discovered some pale-yellow little crystals in my inventory box so I used them instead of pearls, as I found the colour to go very well with the pastel-green of the jade pieces!

But to be frank, I really don't remember or recognise what the yellow crystals are, probably some quartz.

Announcements

1. I have received feedback that bubblewrap for studded earrings doesn't work well :( SO SAD! With immediate effect, boxes will be included at no extra charge for earrings with studs.

2. I can remake some items (those not labelled 'ONE piece only') for 2 more weeks only. After that, everything will be one-offs as I might disappear anytime :) So if you are eying a certain piece of repeatable jewelry, don't wait for too long.

3. If you don't see any new posts for more than a week, then it's a sign that I have popped!

4. And I just can't wait to tell you that I have made a few amazing necklaces with some of the best materials I have! Yes they are costly but rest assured that I am pricing them at very close to MATERIAL COST. Each piece takes no less than 2 hours to make.

Lilac Hues Mismatched earrings $ 40 ($ 39 with other purchase)

I have been struggling with how to price an item like this. This took me a few hours to make and the materials are not exactly cheap.

I have used small purple freshwater pearls to replace Amethyst used in the necklace. These have vibrant colours and colours up the other lilac hues which came from the natural undyed Chalcedony and purple Keishi pearls.

The earwires and the ring used on the longer side is textured and comes from Korea :)
