JUST FOR IRENE

I am posting this up here simply to document down in my portfolio something I have made for Irene, my old friend who hasn't seen me in ~ 6 years and probably can't recognise me if we brush shoulders on the street. (Hey I really have changed a lot in terms of looks, don't ask how, but what do you expect of a woman who has given birth?!)
I certainly hope she will like it when she receives it :)
I will not be making stuff with exactly the same flower motifs as I really feel bad that this idea originates from someone else. Let me see how I can modify it and add a touch of my own style *wink* :)

My latest project - Amigurumi chickie

I have been busy with this for the past weeks. This is a gift for friend C. Hehe she likes it very much!

Since last year I became involved with crochet and I love Amigurumi very much. I have made a few animals and will post up all my presentable projects soon. Some projects (e.g. Chunchun's little dress and the teddy bear I am making for my mum) are still half-completed because my favourite past-time is still jewellery making.

Chika $ 37 (or MINE!) Only ONE pair SOLD

These earrings are surprisingly sweet in their pale pink and stands out so well against long hair (these days I usually let my hair down). These flowers are very 3D and they look like little flowers dangling down the ears.

These earrings can be worn with the flowers facing OUT away from the face, but since our ears are not exactly perpendicular to our faces I found that wearing them with the flowers facing inwards worked best for my ears.

Pale rose quartz with Peridot and white freshwater pearl. A ruggard but sweet pair.

Flower Ball $ 23 (Fine chain included)

I chose very fine goldfilled chain to go with this pendant so that it is almost invisible to the skin when worn.

Freshwater pearls woven in the shape of a ball with nylon string. Size of pearls may vary from strand to strand.

My little Chunchun was touching the pendant when I was trying to take pictures. Cute little fingers; I could almost smell them whenever I see this picture!

夜来香 Scent of the Night $ 40 Tentatively ONE pair ONLY!

Carved red coral flowers and Green Apatite tied to a pair of beautiful smooth black Agate rings.

Subsequant pairs (if materials are available) may look slightly different as the Apatite comes in various shades of blue/green.

These are truly feminine and oriental.

Announcement

1. I have a few outstanding custom orders on hand and I haven't had time to start working on them. Please do drop me a note if you still want the customised pieces, so I will know which to work on first :)

2. Carved leaves and jade pieces - yes, holding back these still, because I don't have any inspirations for them yet, and I am unwilling to sell them off anyhow unless I am very satisfied with the designs.

Meanwhile, I have so many ideas in my head and I just want to quickly materialise them before they disappear!

Silver Brinjals $ 37 Exclusively ONE piece only SOLD

These lovely bead caps are so interesting. They are of Hill tribe silver which is 99% pure (vs 925 silver which is 92.5% pure).
I specially picked out two big fat juicy pearls that are slightly crescent in shape so they look like little brinjals! :)

Garland $ 60 (Value-for-money, exclusively 2 pieces ONLY) SOLD

This is one of those pieces I dare guarantee that the actual piece looks even better than the pictures here. The colours are just not right here. Actual colours are brighter and lighter.

Blue and green (lime green actually) Chalcedony petals with Smoky Quartz of various shapes.

Chain is sterling silver. Length is an easy-to-wear 18.5", slightly longer than a choker and rests nicely at the collar bone.

Frittillaria Chime $ 29 (Last pair of Frittillaria) SOLD

This pair of hand-carved flowers caught my attention and despite a tiny imperfection on one of the flowers (if you can tell from the pics), I decided to buy these Agate pieces for their beautiful colours and layers.
I have dangled little peach pearls below the flowers. Chains and earwires are goldfilled. Length is about 5 cm.

Jade Blossom $ 22 (Exclusively 2 pairs ONLY!) SOLD

A combination that never goes wrong - jade and pearls. These little jade doughnuts are watery and green, while the pearls on top of them are among one of the best strands I have ever bought, with very good lustre.
Perfect for everyday wear.

Jade Rose $ 42 - YES, chinese jade!! (Exclusively ONE piece!) SOLD

I will try to hunt for more of these but chances are very slim that I can find them again.

BEAUTIFULLY carved Jade flowers with streaks of natural green running across each flower.

I hand-bent the earwires to ensure that these flowers don't hang too low below the earlobe.

夕阳 Xi Yang Jade Earrings $ 30 Exclusively ONE piece only SOLD

These jade doughnuts are very special, because they have at least 2 shades of colour on the same piece!
It is not easy to find such jade pieces, let alone two identical ones.

I have tied a yellow jade flower to the doughnuts to complete the look.

Leverback earwires are sterling silver as usual.

One of my favourite poems during my Secondary Sch days learning Chinese Lit:

登乐游

向晚意不适,
驱车登古原,
夕阳无限好,
只是近黄昏。

Translation - The Leyou Plateau (which overlooks Imperial Tombs)

With the gloom of evening hour
I drive up the ancient heights
The setting sun is glorious to see
Pity it's so close to the night

翠 Cui Earrings $ 30 (Exclusively 1 pair only) SOLD

This is a pair of dainty dark green carved jade earrings. I have attached a pair of white moonstones to it to create this simple, clean look. Some wiring and the earwires are in sterling silver.
Length without the earwires is approximately 3.5 cm.
