A Few Hours Later.....

Hey!!! If I can do this, YOU CAN TOO. Just 1 hour.

Hehe....instead of making clay roses, I managed to make my first sculpture!!! Don't be scared, it doesn't look too good. Ugly in fact.

Hmmm.....is it a guy or a girl....

Or....a pig? Or an alien?....Scroll down...

Oh no, here it comes...

.....

Ok, not too bad right? It is quite an achievement to make the side view look presentable. I had never laid my hands on clay before. Hehe the gender of the sculpture can't be determined beforehand ;P

You want to learn? Click on this link to see what it is SUPPOSED to look like after touching up :p

Yes, fairies!!

Ok. If you are totally inspired, go buy your clay from Art Friend and check out the tutorial from the link above. :)

New hobby???

Hey I know many of you come back regularly to check out my blog :) Thanks a bunch for the support and I will try my best to post up something new these few days.

I just bought some clay to learn to make little clay flowers and I must admit that it was so difficult! While searching through forums to get tips and help, I found a very nice website. I love everything the artist made!

Hope that it inspires you as much as it did to me to pick up a new hobby :) There are many more of these links.

Summer Flowers (Choker) $ 87

I have not worked on a big project for a long time ever since 'Autumn' (refer earlier post) and this is something I am truly proud of!

This choker is designed for June who is getting it as a present to her friend getting married. Lots of flowers of various cheerful colours - orange (Carnelian), purple (Amethyst), pink (dyed jade), peach (Coral), white (Pearls) and the green leaves (peridot and Canadian jade) and some others which I can't remember the name of the stones.

The bouquet looks bigger than it really is. The strap is suede leather and all other silverish parts are 925 silver.

Hope that June's friend will like it :)

Summer Flowers Brooch (Coral) $ 20

This is a variation from the first brooch. Sweet colours. Second picture shows the action size better. Each brooch is quite small, about 4 cm in size.

Good to wear on collar of working shirts :)

Summer Flowers Brooch (Purple) $ 18

Same materials as for Summer Flowers Choker. Veggie colours. Looks great on white or pastel colours such as pink or pale yellow.

Summer Flowers (Earrings) $ 18

Many of you might have seen this concept for these earrings before (have not posted up before). Amethyst barrels with the same materials as I have for Summer Flowers Choker. Something light to go with the choker.

Lemon Drop Earrings $ 30

Lemon topaz set in 14K gold-fill materials, including the ear hooks.

It has an expensive look, don't you think so? :)

Lemon Drop Necklace $ 36

This tear-drop Lemon Topaz gemstone looks good on its own, as it has excellent cutting. Lemon Topaz has the greenish-yellow colour of Japanese Green Tea :)

Very simple but classy necklace, though last picture is quite terrible. Chain is 14K gold-fill (much better than gold-plated).

Dangling Tourmaline $ 22

I have been pretty busy lately with work so please pardon me for not loading more pics recently, or working on your orders :( Really sorry, this is a peak period for me in my job.

This pair of earrings have been sold to Michelle (Sue's friend). Subsequent pairs will be similar but not the same stones as I run out of some nice tourmaline colours, unless I replace tourmaline with other stones of similar colours.

14K gold-filled chain.

An Afterthought

Something happened today that left me a little upset :(

Something which I had expected might happen to anyone selling things over the internet, but I was hoping that it will not happen. But it did, for the first time since my blog was up.

Anyway, it made me think back on every of my customers and supporters and I realised that our mutual faith and trust in each other is SO VERY IMPORTANT. Before today, every order has been transacted successfully without customer cancellation. I am very lucky to have fantastic, understanding customers like you and I have learnt not to take you for granted.

To all who have purchased jewelry from me: I am saying this NOT because I want more business - this is after all a hobby - but I really appreciate you from the bottom of my heart. It is you who make my hobby meaningful. (What's the value of a masterpiece, if there are no one to appreciate it? )

Riveria Bracelet $ 30

Bracelet made in the spirit of both Riveria combo and Something Basic.

Chain in 925 silver. Interesting irregular-shaped pearls, Swarovski crystals (round and tear-drop), Howlite-turqoise (the blue one), blue quartz and Aquamarine stones.

Calmness (Version 2) $ 29 (Stock Clearance, one piece only)

I made a necklace quite sometime ago using the same stones. With the remaining rutilated quartz and some 925 silver spacers, I created this piece of Calmness. There is no other name more suitable.

The rest of the necklace is dark green suede leather, not cotton string.

Most of the other parts are 925 silver.

Heart of Gold (Bracelet) $ 27 (One piece only)

A simple bracelet of 925 silver.

The charms are of a mixture of pearls, Swarovski crystal, frosted quartz and a fat, blue heart. The heart is from Europe (NOT the cheappo kind!). If you compare it to the ones with lower quality, you will find that the swirls of gold in / on it are very pretty, while the cheap ones out there have no swirls.

Supplier mentioned that the swirls are of real gold foil!

I only bought one heart to make one bracelet because each cost close to $10!!!

Frosted Apple $ 15

I am worried that the pricing will spoil the image of this pair of earrings :(

It is very very 'designer-like' and cute! A golden leave tilts upward, making the frosted quartz look like a tiny translucent apple. On the leave, there is a small red coral. Tied together with 925 silver wire and attached to silver hooks.

Too bad my photography skills are not good enuf to show you how they look like (MUCH BETTER!) in reality.

Happy Hour Mismatched Earrings $ 15 (Stock Clearance - 2 pairs available)

These happy colours come from coral, Howlite-turqoise, yellow, pink and lilac pearls.

Set in antique-copper colour. I love those bead caps! :)

Cherry Brandy $ 15 (Stock Clearance)

I bought these pillow-shaped moonstones quite some time ago and almost forgot about them! They come in different colours, from white to grey to peach. This pair has a shade close to peach colour.

I like the bead cap on the moonstone very much. It is antique-gold in colour. Red coral beads on the top.

Jasmine Buds $ 15

These are very lady-like earrings made of white Mother-of-Pearl and small white/pink freshwater pearls. 925 silver chain and hooks.

Sale ends this Sunday

Thanks for the overwhelming response since the beginning of the sale period. All requests for items >$35 by Sunday will receive 10% off. :)

Snowflakes $ 19

Nice Keishi pearls! Not totally white, with a slight tint of silverish-grey. Will be making subsequent pairs with smaller, shiny Keishi pearls which are more white/off-white. A simple but sophisticated design :)

Aliyah $ 40 (Price revised)

A fun necklace made of all the real stuff - big and small coral, moonstone, freshwater pearls and pearl nuggets, and the brass thingy which makes the whole necklace so durable-looking.

One of my favourites because it is chic, lively and goes well with almost everything in my wardrobe - navy blue, white, khaki, denim, pink...all those basic colours I love so much.

Brass toggle for a change instead of clasp.

Memory $ 20 (3 pairs only 'cos not all pearls nuggets have the right shape)

If you know the old song 'Memory', you probably can recall a phrase: '.....Has the moon lost her memory? She is smiling alone...'

Instead of using 925 silver or gold-filled materials, I have decided to experiment with the antique-looking colours such as brass or copper.

925 silver hooks, moonstone and a large Pearl nugget.

Last pic was taken from the top view so you can catch the 'Moonlight' effect of the moonstones (bluish tint). It will be more obvious to the eye in reality.

Brilliant Pear Orders

Lovely ladies...thank you for the overwhelming response/enquiries for Brilliant Pear. :)

Gloria now owns the set that I posted earlier and I am not able to show you sample pieces for the time being. But do trust the photos and they look better and shinier in reality.

I am left with only a few bigger pieces of Citrine for making necklaces, though there are still enough for the earrings. Write to me as soon as possible so I can spend my weekend making the Brilliant Pears. :P

Brilliant Pear Earrings $ 18

Good-quality gemstone jewelry at affordable price :) To thank all who have supported me one way or another.

Faceted Citrine, gold-filled bead. Good for daily wear. Goes perfectly well with the Brilliant Pear necklace ($29, limited pieces).

Flamenco $ 19

Delphine's suggestion of colour combo. As your head turn, you might even hear the swishing of the golden pearls dancing in the air, just like the skirts of ladies dancing that rhythmic Spanish dance.

The blue stones used are Sodalite.

Another possible colour combo will be Sodalite with white pearls.
