Completed!!!

Last year Dec when we were in Taiwan, my Laogong bought two BEAUTIFUL jigsaw puzzles from 诚品 bookstore. These jigsaws are paintings by Jimmy 几米 who inspired the movie Turn Left, Turn Right. One of them is of a child in the woods pushing a pram, in which a baby moon rests. It is made up of 500 pieces of jigsaw and we did it shortly after we came back.

This one you see here is 1000 pieces, and gosh, the hundreds or thousands of pieces of oranges and leaves and bark took us a long time to complete. Or rather, took Laogong a long time. A pig who stays on a tree opening his door to see a girl on a trunk.

My Laogong actually finished it a few weeks ago except for about 20 pieces left, which he could easily slot in in 10 minutes. But he told me that he would save the historical moment for me, when both of us can find the time to complete the jigsaw together. WOW HOW SWEET! And whenever I thought of this, I wanted to smile and hug this man who at the same time has this child-like sweetness :)

And finally last Friday, we had a closing ceremony for this jigsaw puzzle, marked by the insertion of the very last piece held by our four hands :) I took a number of pictures but since my Laogong does not enjoy his face being posted on my blog, I shall just share this with everyone. Can't wait to see these two being framed up!

Apple Mint $ 20

This design came from the minds of two ladies, Wan and Mingching, separately but at the same time...hey great minds think alike :)

These colours are beautiful, pastel yet refreshing: apple green from Prehnite and 'peacock blue' from Apatite. Wan and her friend squealed in delight when they saw these earrings :)

The wires and parts are all of 925 silver and thus polishable when tarnished.

Wan's Delight :)

This is customised for Wan! A two-tier cluster of Iolite and Rhodonite rondells. I hope she will enjoy wearing them. (Don't worry about the length, your short hair will reveal these darker and richer colours!) :)

Legend $ 30

When Victorian fuses with Chinese...this is the chemistry produced!

Another pair of lovely jade earrings, but different in style from Lady Qing. Currently I only have this pair of jade in this 'bell' shape. The colours on both pieces are not exactly the same but each of them are so pretty, so translucent and watery looking. These two pieces were the best match for each other among my other pieces.

The frame is 925 silver, and so are the lever-back ear hooks.

I will be making one or two pairs with the same round, carved jade in Lady Qing, lighter or darker jade. Definitely will be fantastic too.

Thanks!

Wonder if Zelciia will ever see this but thanks to her for posting my pics together with my url at her Stylehive bookmark! :)

Cranberry Mix $ 32

A pair of pearl earrings with a vibrant mix of colours - Coral, Amazonite, mauve freshwater pearls and Aventurine. For those who are crazy over those big, fat pearls :)

Serenade $ 39

I am very satisfied with these earrings as they are very chic indeed!

14K Gold-filled loops with a clear, sparkling Lemon Topaz dangling at the bottom, together with some small, white freshwater pearls. Hooks are gold-filled too. About 4.5cm below the ear lobe.

Great to go with something black, casual or formal. Shape also helps to elongate the face :p

Joyce's Kissed-by-a-Rose

Just showing off Joyce's FOC earrings, thanks for recommending Meina! :))

By the Seaside (925 Silver Bracelet) $ 30

A dainty bracelet with charms of the seaside theme - a gold and a silver star fish, a cluster of small white pearls, and a 'rock' (irregular, faceted Smokey Quartz)! :)

Chain is silver ball-chain. Gold starfish is 14K gold-filled. What I like about this bracelet is that ONLY the silver starfish can slide along the chain. The other charms are fixed and can only dangle happily :)

青女Lady Qing $ 30 (5 pairs) - For Jade Lovers

This was inspired by the chinese movie, The Banquet (夜宴). 青女 is the name of the daughter of a loyal general. I was mesmorised by her beauty and the pair of jade earrings she wore. It looked so oriental, so vintage, so classic!

In this pair of earrings, I have simply linked a red coral round bead, a copper bead and a piece of dark-green jade together in series. The jade has carvings! What is so interesting about these 2 pieces of jade is that they both have patches of lighter green on them. Well, I am no expert in jade but I simply love the two-tone in the colours!

June immediately bought a pair (my original pair) when she saw them. The jade on her pair was lighter in colour (minty green, sort of).

Copyright Infringement

Dear friends and loyal customers,

Do help me keep a lookout on any jewelry websites that post up pictures taken from my blog. I have been suspicious of this happening already. Or should you see a continuous range of VERY SIMILAR designs with or without similar item names on a blog or website, do let me know? THANKS A LOT and I count on you for your great help!

I view jewelry-making to be an expression of my own creativity and style. Every now and then I get inspired by many other designers, but I would never want to stop making jewelry originating from my own style, or at most a fusion of my own and other designers' creativity. I am sure many other ladies who just started out this hobby get inspirations from my blog (which I do not mind at all), but if anyone intends to just copy wholesale from here and is exposed, I will not hesitate to take legal actions. Of course, I acknowledge that there are coincidences whereby two pieces of jewelry are exactly similar in design, but it will just be too coincidental when even the materials are similar.

Every piece of jewelry, from conceptualisation to creation and then photo-taking, is a unique masterpiece which will call out to unique admirers. By helping me expose the copycats, your jewelry will be authentic and not be 'mass-produced'. I sincerely thank you in advance!

Wishing Star $ 18

I like it simple and nice! The highlight is the 925-silver starfish on which the tear-drop Swarovski crystal is set in. Approximately 2cm drop.

This pair of earrings make an ideal Christmas gift :)

Haywire $ 40

Does anyone know what we call the rolls of dried hay that runs across the desert when blown by the wind? (fr Min: Tumbleweeds)

Anyway, this elegant pair of earrings were customised for Heather who was attracted by Bundle of Pearls. Made by friend, C. Tarnish-resistant wires losely bundled with freshwater pearls. My description: stylish!

Sweet Innocence Bracelet $ 35

This is commissioned for June :) Beautiful, round, natural pink freshwater pearls with good-lustred shells and a Carnelian drop.

Technically speaking, you can wear this bracelet to bathe, and even should any part tarnish over time, the tarnish can be removed. This is because the chains and parts are 14K gold-filled. But I still recommend maximum care to be given to this piece of jewelry to protect the lustre of the pearls and shells :)

Palette of Colours II $ 52

This is designed for Jean :) Wear this and look like any Korean drama girl! Everything is in 925 silver. Therefore this comes with a small piece of silver-polish cloth.

The two green stones are my newest batch of faceted Prehnite. At the bottom of these earrings are 2 rainbow moonstones which are less than perfect but unique in their own flaws (like any other faceted moonstones). The peacock-blue comes from Apatite.

What I really like are the two cross-shaped silver parts in the middle.

Libra $ 30

I am posting this up for Jean who is looking for something with Apatite.

The chain on which the Smokey Quartz and Apatite hang is of 925 silver.

To Jean: More apatite can be added above the Smokey Quartz to give a fuller look.

Shades of Blue (in 925 silver) $ 35

This is supposed to be a very sweet piece, but it doesn't reflect well on these pictures (again). Hey I am bringing back silver again, for all who miss it :)

I am happy to have this 925 silver ball chain :) This necklace is 'hooked' at the front, unlike the usual, which is at the back. Dangling in the middle is a tiny 3-leaf clover formed by three Iolite drops. Too bad it looks too dark here when it really is quite clear and slightly purplish! At the end of the lariat-style necklace hangs a bright-blue Chalcedony drop. I think it is very very sweet and delicate!

I can shorten some parts of the necklace upon request.

Mirage $ 26

I bought these BEAUTIFUL faceted Blue Chalcedony briolettes and I am so happy with them! They have a nice and bright sky blue and a shiny surface.

Blue Chalcedony contrasted with a puffed, faceted dark Amethyst (which is much richer in colour off the photos), though both colours are just adjacent to each other in the colour spectrum. So near and yet so far....just like a mirage!

Petite $ 18

The same flowers as Mid-Summer's Night Garden bracelet, Baby Flower ring and collar pin. Sweet right? :) Created by a sweet friend C.

This is a pair of earrings set on 925 silver studs.
